Foaming Hand Soap Recipe!

If you are anything like I was, you probably walk by Bath & Body Works smell some amazing chemical fragrance, do a double take, and walk right into the store.  You probably walk around smelling candles and soaps until your arms are full of goodies and your head starts to hurt from all the synthetic fragrances.

Don’t worry, becoming chemical free doesn’t have to mean, no more fun smells!  Thanks to essential oils you can create your own toxin-free soap with REAL smells from REAL plants, rather than something chemically engineered and labeled as “fragrance”.  Did you know that the ingredient “fragrance” is actually a catch-all label for hundreds of different chemicals…so something that says “natural fragrance” or even just “fragrance” could have just about anything in it!… They mind as well just write “possibly contains dog poop” on it 😜

Anyways, back to business.  Time to make some REAL soap.  The good news about all those trips to Bath & Body Works is that you can use all their nice foaming hand soap containers because they’re actually made with a good quality plastic (PETE)!  Just dump out the chemical yuck and buy a big bottle of unscented Castile soap (one 32oz bottle will make about 32 bottles of foaming hand soap!).  I usually buy my Castile soap on Amazon.. But you can also find it in decent grocery stores.

Now for the RECIPE!:

-Foaming hand soap dispenser

-2 Tablespoons Castile Soap (approximately, I hate measuring so I just squirt some in there)

-20-30 drops of your favorite Essential Oils (Don’t go to the grocery store and buy cheap junk, get the real deal here because then you can multi-task by getting rid of the chemicals AND adding in immunity boosting oils! BAM now you’re really on fire!)

-Fill the rest of the way with water (leave space at the top so you don’t overflow when you put the top on like I always seem to do..)

-Optional: 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil or fractionated coconut oil (keeps your hands soft)

Done!

See! Kicking chemicals out of your home isn’t so hard after all! 😁 #winning

So here’s mine! (Post pics of yours on my FB page @ultraoily for chances to win free stuff!) Since my new foaming soap is going in the kids bathroom, I added 10 drops of Thieves Essential Oil to boost their immune systems and 10 drops of Purification Essential Oil for its amazing stink-eating smell!! (p.s. Both of those are in the Premium Starter Kit here)

Travel Like A Boss

WOW!  I’m not the only one that brings their diffuser on trips!  I run a little motel in southern RI called The Anchor Motel and we just noticed that customers are starting to bring their diffusers with them to help them relax on vacation!

Diffusing in a hotel room or camper or boat cabin or tent ..whatever your travel preference maybe…personally I can’t stand tents..i know you’re thinking “You are a essential oil diffusing hippy, how could you not love getting back to nature in a tent??  But sleeping on the ground with the insects chewing my blood all night just isn’t as appealing as it used to be when I was a kid…  Anyways, where was I???  Oh yes, diffusing while you travel is a great idea!  It can help you relax and help you sleep like you are at home or BETTER.

Last mini vacation we went on, we slept in my in-laws RV (now that’s camping! ;)) and I brought Lavender & cedarwood essential oils for night time and some citrus oils to wake me up in the morning.  There’s nothing like waking up to the sun in your face, a working Keurig by your bed and the smell of lemon and tangerine diffusing through the room.  Ahh. The life.  If only I hadn’t also woken up with my daughters foot in my rib cage every morning….

Oh and I also bring Thieves essential oil too because the second someone sounds snifflier than usual, I have that baby pulsating through the room to boost everyone’s immune system.  No need for us all to go down like dominos while on vacation!!

So diffusing on vacation = better sleep, better mood, and no sicklys…sure that’s a word… just ask my mom.  Before I turned my family into a bunch of oily hippies, my kids got colds a lot so when I would ask her to babysit she would say something along the lines of, “Sure. But no sicklies” Meaning she only wanted them when they weren’t going to bring over any germs I guess LOL.  Bet she doesn’t miss that.

So that’s how you vaca the right way.  Glad to see people are starting to catch on ;). Happy travels!!

Organic Plants = Happy Bodies

I know you’re probably thinking organic is just too expensive but with some fruit and vegetables, not buying organic could cost you some major health bills down the line after years of exposure to pesticides and herbicides. Some fruit like bananas have less toxicity but others with thin skin that are more difficult to grow, like strawberries, are highly contaminated and should always be purchased organic.

Organic farms rock! They spend extra money to hand weed, protect their crops from neighboring herbicide spraying farms and do all the paperwork to get that organic USDA certification. We should totally be supporting them by buying their food! And we are doing a great job because there is more and more organic produce in the grocery stores every other time I go in there so stores are realizing the demand for healthy, non chemically enhanced food! 👍🏻👍🏻

This all goes to same for our essential oils. Grocery store essential oils are likely pressed from nonorganic plants laced with chemicals…but in this case its even MORE important to buy organic because its not just one lemon in a bottle of Lemon EO, is 75! That’s 75 loads of herbicide or other chemical solvents!! YUCK! Why replace your household chemicals with chemical laced oils??. That defeats the purpose.

That’s where Young Living comes in. Totally organic, all hand weeded, never sprayed plants. All distilled or cold pressed at the exact moment that medicinal benefits are at a maximum. You can even visit their farms to see for yourself!  I buy all my essential oils from Young Living and you can too by visiting http://www.myyl.com/reposa and scrolling down to the bottom to click Enroll Today!  Wholesale memberships are FREE and come with 11 of the most popular essential oils and allow you to choose your diffuser, all at half the price it would cost to buy them individually!  All Young Living oils are from organic plants and are of the absolute highest quality possible. I use them in place of all my household cleaners and toiletries.  I even use them in cooking!  Win, win!
Anyways, that’s why I eat organic food 🌱 and use Young Living essential oils ❤️❤️❤️ but the choice is yours 😊

Toxin-Free Living

Toxin-Free Life

Well, there’s really no such thing as a completely toxin-free life…there will always be things we can’t avoid like car exhaust or public restrooms sprayed with Lysol.  But we can live as close to toxin-free as possible, at least in our own homes!

The National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health studied 2,983 ingredients in our products at home and found 884 toxic ingredients. 314 of them caused biological mutations. 218 caused reproductive problems. 778 were toxic to the human body. 146 they knew caused cancer tumors — but were allowed in the United States, even though they were banned in other countries around the world. Many of these chemicals are allowed in common cleaning supplies in the United States — things under your cabinets right now.
You may think its inevitable; that you have to clean your house and wash your hands and moisturize, so you have to absorb and breath in chemicals, but you don’t. I’m going to show you your other options.

Visit the cabinets in your home and look up one of your store bought cleaning products on the EWG and check it’s score (A=safe to F= Really really really bad for you)  http://www.ewg.org/guides/cleaners

Anything below a B should not be in your home because it could be hurting you and your family.  There are better alternatives to every evil C-F rated product!  Vinegar, baking soda, Castile soap, coconut oil and essentials oils (high quality only) are all amazing chemical replacements!  I use vinegar, water and Lemon essential oil to clean my floors.  Baking soda, arrowroot powder, coconut oil, Lavender essential oil and Tea Tree essential oil as deodorant.  Coconut oil as makeup remover.  Castile soap with Lavender and Frankincense essential oils as body wash.  Peppermint essential oil, Raw sugar and almond oil as exfoliating shower scrub before shaving.  Castile soap, water and Thieves essential oil in my foaming hand soap dispenser…  And the list goes on!  DIYing with essential oils is super easy and inexpensive!  AND I KNOW there are no toxic manufactured chemicals in my home!!  You can do it too!  I know you can!  I’ve showed lots of people how and I can show you too!

One of the  most popular alternatives is Young Living’s Thieves cleaner because it is 100% plant based.  How cool is that!?  That’s an A+ rating!  No SLS or fragrance that has been linked to asthma and other respiratory illness, JUST PLANTS!  I use Thieves cleaner to clean my bathrooms, kitchen counters, oven, furniture, laundry stains, floors, etc and I can rest easy when my kids decide to spray everything in their little attempts to “help” me clean house because Thieves cleaner actually BOOSTS your immune system instead of hurting it!

It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Add Thieves cleaner to your order when you sign up for your Wholesale premium starter kit at http://www.myyl.com/reposa (scroll to the bottom and hit Enroll Today).  My family and I thank you for supporting small business 🙂
